Fresh Cut Design Series

This series is tailored for the weekend designer who wants some fresh flowers handy when Entertaining or “Just Because”.

The Starting Point

Accent Arrangements

Great to tuck in a powder room, the guest bedroom, a breakfast nook or to leave as a hostess gift. Lecture will include a wide variety of designs and ideas that incorporate new design elements.  You will be given two vessels and flowers to arrange in class.

Low Centerpieces

Learn the proper dimensions and design approaches used to create a wonderful centerpiece for a seated meal. Discuss do’ and don’ts while your instructor creates design options to consider. You will be given a 6” glass cube and seasonal flowers. Be inspired by the demonstration or create a new vision of your own!

Buffet Centerpieces

Four different design styles will be featured in the lecture. For the hands-on portion of the class you will be working with a pair of taper odapters and a pair of candle odapters. You will need to bring a pair of your favorite, taper candle holders to use in the arrangements.

Sideboard and Mantle Arrangements

These one-sided arrangements are great for framing an environment, for creating height and for adding drama. You will receive a tall glass vessel and learn the delight of creating a natural arrangement with greenery and twigs.

Planted Design Series 

 This series is ideal for the container gardener who works with window boxes, planters and baskets of all sizes.  Each class will feature a different design and container.  You will finish the series with a wonderful collection of planted designs for your home.

European Garden 

Discuss the basics of indoor container gardening , plant care and maintenance. Instructor will demonstrate different design styles and sizes.  Each participant will make their own mini garden to take home.

The Art of Topiary

Hear about the origins of topiary and learn how relaxing and therapeutic the care of this design can be. Your lecture will include ideas for use everyday and when entertaining. Plant and decorate your own topiary to keep.

Hanging Door Basket 

 What better way to greet loved ones into your home that with a door garden prepared especially by you.  Learn the do’s and don’ts for preparation and care.  Seasonality and plant choice will be featured.  Come prepared to dig in and design your own door basket.

Herb Gardening

A container favorite for outdoors or on a kitchen windowsill, a herb garden appeals to many senses with its beauty, flavor and fragrance.  After a lecture and demonstration, you will prepare a trio garden for your kitchen.  Great as a gift or to keep!

Home Decor 

These workshops are lecture only.  They are very instructional and address a specific home design. 
Attendees will be instructed on the steps to complete a similar project.

The Twigs Mantel

Traditionally, we think to decorate our mantel for the Fall and Holiday seasons.  Well, why not all year round?  Utilize the Twigs Mantle board to give your mantle the burst of spring it needs.  For those wanting to complete a design at the workshop, please bring your mantel board to the workshop.

Door Baskets that Welcome 

For those with the “Not So Green” Thumb this approach to front door decoration is ideal! We will discuss double doors, glass doors, dark doors, carved doors and recessed doors. Bring your dilemma and we will find the solution!
